Mike Long


Mike Long is the Co-Director of Bands at Roswell High School. His work at RHS includes conducting the Symphonic Band, co-conducting the Concert Band, teaching beginning keyboard, and music appreciation. Mr. Long is a recent graduate of Kennesaw State University holding a bachelor’s degree in music education and a concentration in band. During his time at KSU he studied euphonium privately under Dr. Paul Dickinson, Dr. Martin Cochran, and Mr. Jason Casanova. 

 

Prior to his time at Roswell, Mr. Long marched three years with a world finalist drum corps, The Bluecoats, claiming a world championship title in 2016 and earning the “visual performer of the year” award in 2018. In addition to his time in DCI, Mr. Long was the visual soloist for the world finalist indoor drumline, Atlanta Quest, in 2017.

 

Mr. Long worked as the visual tech and band assistant for North Paulding High School from 2016 to 2018. Following his role at NPHS, Mr. Long was the visual caption head for the Harrison High School marching band and the show designer/drill writer for the Harrison Indoor Percussion Ensemble; leading the school to its first ever semifinalist performance at the 2019 WGI world championships.
